A brief summary of my participation in the international event of artistic and contemporary jewelry that is held annually at the Museum of Art and Design in New York (MAD).

Six days presenting my work in the heart of New York along with 42 artists from around the world was the finishing touch for an absolutely unique experience.

Five months earlier I had received an invitation to participate in MAD Abot Jewelry and what followed was the complex work of creating a complete collection of porcelain jewelry pieces which I titled Onirial.

Finally, it was time to fly to New York to present my work in person and offer it to the general public and collectors.

My porcelain and cotton jewelry collection titled Onirail, Michel Cohen wearing a Harvest series necklace and a view of New York City from the MAD's tenth floor.

The event began with a day specially dedicated to collectors and then a cocktail at the residence of Michel Cohen, promoter of MAD About Jewelry.

In the following days, the exhibition was open to the public and was a great opportunity to show and sell my jewellery pieces in porcelain in a beautiful space and in the context of a museum. As I had never imagined.

My necklaces showcased at the MAD About Jewelry, Rebekka Grossman perfectly sporting a Leaves necklace and theCentral Park in early spring.

It was a great personal and family effort but was worth it for the experience and the people I had the opportunity to meet both participants and organizers, artists and visitors, many of them willing to chat and share experiences and points view.

Interviewed for the Curating series on the jewelry website Klimt02, Bryna Pomp, curator at MAD About Jewelry commented on her practice:

My strategy for the selection of artists for each year is to be able to represent the widest possible range of materials, such as those that I can see in my daily research, all executed in elaborate designs and excellent craftmanship.

Here goes a big thank you to the organizers, especially Michele Cohen and curator Bryna Pomp for trusting in my work and Rebekka Grossman, Rachel Silverstein and Sara Yashpan for having always been ready to help and assist all participants.

Finally, I wish to highlight the camaraderie that I experienced from each of the 42 artists who participated with me in the event, from whom I treasure beautiful memories and learnings.
