¿DE QUÉ ESTÁN HECHAS?
PORCELANA
Cada joya está compuesta de dijes modelados íntegramente a mano, utilizando pasta de porcelana que coloreo agregándole pigmentos minerales.
Luego los horneo a 1225°C en horno cerámico eléctrico. El fuego les otorga resitencia y acentúa los colores.

WHAT ARE THEY MADE OF?
PORCELAIN
I make every bead by hand, using porcelain paste that I colour by adding mineral pigments.
I fire them at 1225°C in an electric kiln. Fire gives them resistance and accentuates colour.
TINTES NATURALES
Utilizo tintes vegetales para dar color a los textiles de algodón y lino que uso en mis collares y pulseras. Mis favoritos son los que preparo yo misma a base de cáscaras de cebolla, palta, granada y yerba mate.
Macero los materiales orgánicos en agua y luego los hiervo para obtener los colorantes que, mediante mordientes como el bicarbonato y el vinagre, me permiten lograr una amplia paleta de colores. También utilizo tintes artesanales en polvo, como el índigo natural, la madera de sándalo y las hojas de mora.
NATURAL DYES
I use vegetal dyes to tint the cotton and linen textiles in my necklaces and bracelets.
My favourite dyes are those I prepare, based on onion skin, stone and avocado peel, yerba maté and pomegranate peels.
I put these organic materials in water to macerate and then boil them to obtain the dyes that, through mordants such as baking soda and vinegar, allow me to achieve a wide colour palette.
In addition to the dyes I make myself, I also use artisanal powder dyes, such as indigo, sandalwood and blackberry leaves.
TEXTILES
Trabajo con textiles industriales a base de lino y algodón, los cuales debo tratar con leche de soja antes del teñido. Luego los hiervo con el tinte natural elegido hasta lograr el color y la intensidad deseados.
También utilizo hilados artesanales como el cáñano, el cual adquiero ya teñido, y la seda.
TEXTILE
I work with industrial linen and cotton textiles, which I treat with soy milk before dyeing. Then I boil them with the chosen natural dye until I achieve the desired colour and intensity.
Occasionally, I also use artisanal hemp and silk thread.
METALES
Para crear mis aros y anillos con dijes de porcelana, utilizo bronce y plata 925 para el soporte y los pasantes.
Realizo modelos en cera que luego serán transformados en metal por el método de cera perdida. Limo y pulo individualmente cada pieza. Los pasantes son luego soldados con soplete.
METALS
I use bronze and sterling silver to create my rings and earrings with porcelain beads.
I make wax models that will then be transformed into metal by the lost wax method. Each piece is finished and polished individually.
LABOR MANUAL
Una vez que temgo listos los elementos individuales, los ensamblo a mano poniendo especial atención en las terminaciones.
Para lograr flecos, utilizo textiles reciclados los cuales destejo, retirando hilo por hilo y deshaciendo la trama, dejando la urdimbre al descubrierto. Estas telas estampadas revelan colores y a veces imágenes, además de agregar una dimensión de textura extra a mis joyas.
LABOUR
When I have all the elements ready, I assemble them by hand, paying special attention to the finishing of each piece.
I use recycled textiles to make fringes. I unweave the fabric, removing thread by thread and undoing the weft, to leave the warp on view.
These patterned fabrics reveal colours and sometimes images that add an extra textural dimension to my jewellery.
REFLEXIÓN
Realizar cada pieza es un proceso lento que requiere investigación y trabajo.
Cada una de ellas es creada con respeto, en pequeñas cantidades y eligiendo los procesos menos agresivos y contaminantes.
Los materiales cerámicos que utilizo son remanentes de la fábrica de porcelana que perteneció a mi familia, al igual que los textiles, que eran utilizados para confeccionar pantallas para lámparas. Los metales los adquiero en talleres del centro porteño especilizados en su fundición y reciclaje.
REFLECTION
Making each piece is a process that takes research time and craft work. Each one is respectfully created, in small quantities and choosing the least aggressive and polluting processes.
The ceramic materials I use are remnants of the porcelain factory that used to belong to my family, as are the textiles, used to make lampshades.
I acquire the metals in Buenos Aires downtown workshops specialising in smelting and recycling.
TIEMPO
Mis piezas se verán afectadas por el uso y el paso del tiempo.
Pero los dijes dañados volveran a la tierra en forma de piedritas de colores, los cordones podrán ser compostados y los metales, una vez separados del conjunto, podrán ser fundidos nuevamente sin perder sus cualidades.
TIME
My jewellery will be affected by use and time.
But the damaged charms will return to the earth in the form of coloured pebbles, the textiles can be composted and the metals, once separated from the set, can be melted again without losing their qualities.
¿CÓMO SE CUIDAN?
Los collares pueden ser lavados con cuidado, sumergiéndolos por poco tiempo en agua tibia y limpiando las manchas en textiles y porcelana con un cepillo suave y jabón blanco. Si el contenedor donde se sumergen es de superficie dura, recomiendo colocar un paño para que actúe de barrera entre la pieza y la superficie rígida, que podría dañarla si se golpea. Es importante enjuagar bien y secar con toalla para luego colgarlos al aire libre y a la sombra. Pueden plancharse, si fuera necesario.
Las piezas de metal podrían necesitar limpieza, para lo cual recomiendo frotarlas con un paño suave y seco. Los componentes de porcelana en anillos y aros pueden limpirase con limpiador desengrasante, quitando cualquier exceso con un paño húmedo. Para el guardado recomiendo colocarlos en una bolsa de tela y conservarlos en algún lugar resguardado, entre la ropa, por ejemplo.
Pero el mejor cuidado que se les puede dar es disfrutarlas.
HOW TO CARE FOR THEM?
The necklaces can be washed carefully, submerged briefly in warm water and cleaned stains on textiles and porcelain with a soft brush and white soap. If the container you are submerging them has a hard surface, I recommend placing a cloth to act as a barrier between the piece and the hard surface, which could damage it if hit. It is important to rinse the textiles well, dry them with a towel and hang them outdoors in the shade. They can be ironed, if necessary.
Metal parts may need cleaning, so wiping them with a soft, dry cloth is recommended. Porcelain components in rings and earrings can be cleaned with a degreasing cleaner, removing any excess with a damp cloth. For storage, I recommend placing them in a cloth bag and keeping them in a protected place, among your clothes.
But the best care you can give them is to enjoy them.
